2020, has been a year that has brought the world together and has taught us to fight - to fight against the giant monster COVID-19. Working out and having a healthy diet plan in check is what we all need right now to stay fit and make our immune strong.

We can't stress more on how having good gut health is very significant to fight any disease or illness. And the pandemic has however made us all realize it. Now, if you are unaware of the immune system, let us tell you what it is! The immune system is the body's mechanism to fight against any virus or bacteria, and depending on how strong your immunity is, you are most likely or least likely to get infected by it.

According to our research and the coronavirus tips provided by the World Health Organisation (WHO), here are some simple things you can follow to keep the virus out of your reach!

Lets head on to the corona diet tips:

  • Eat fresh feel fresh: Avoiding processed food and sticking on to fresh and farm-grown food is always a better idea. The packaged food might be handled by many people, people you don’t know whether they are infected by the novel corona or not. If in case you are using processed food make sure you wash the packaging very well before using it or keep it untouched for 24 hrs so the virus can die.
  • Go greens! : You might not like green vegetables, but including them in your meal is an absolute essential. They are packed with the right vitamins, iron, and fiber that your body needs and will keep your gut strong.
  • Hydrate: Whether corona or not, drinking water and getting yourself hydrated is a must. You must drink up to 6-8 glasses of water every day. The water transports nutrients and compounds in the blood, also getting rid of all the toxins in your body.
  • Control that oil and fat: To keep your immune strong you must keep your fat take in control. Eat fresh meat and fish instead of the packaged ones. Lower your oil, butter, cheese, and fat consumption as well as junk food. Clearly eating from outside is not an option in this lockdown!
  • Less is always more: You need to apply this mantra when sprinkling on some extra sugar or salt. You must control your tastebuds and reduce your sugar and salt consumption. Avoid food and snacks that are high on it, instead, opt for fruits to satisfy your sweet tooth.
  • Say no to junk! : It sounds hard, but you can do it! Try making your favourite snacks at home instead of going out or ordering it online - by doing this you will also learn a new recipe and satisfy your tastebuds. You must reduce having contact with people, and this can be one of the steps.
  • Take supplements: In case you can't consume all the fresh veggies and fruits, you can also opt for supplements like protein powder, vitamin capsules, etc. to keep your immune system healthy.
Apart from diet, exercising is also very important! Since we all are stuck in lockdown and sitting at home doing nothing, you can't become a couch potato! You need to get up, put on some music, and get that body moving. You can indulge yourself in Zumba, dance on your favourite Bollywood beat, or even workout for 10-15 mins minimum.

Staying fit and healthy today is not an option it is a necessity and be it coronavirus or not we all need to stay healthy and be prepared to fight any virus that comes our way.

Being in the world of "social media", diet or dieting has become a fade. We see en-number of diet plans these days - Keto and what not! Sometimes these diets work and sometimes they don’t. But before taking up these diet plans, have you thought is this the right one or not? Many-a-times people have a misconception that diet plans are only for weight loss or for weight gain. They either starve themselves or stuff a lot of food into their body. But, diet is not what many people think it is. If you Google the word 'Diet', this is what you get - the kinds of food that a person, animal, or community habitually eats. Which means what you eat in your day-to-day life is your DIET!

Now, diet can differ from a person to person, depending on his/her age, lifestyle choices, body type, health, weight, etc. You don't have to eat what your favorite celebrity is having in order to look like them. Your body needs can be totally different than theirs. You can eat as much or as little as you like depending on your body type and needs. A simple example here can be - you must have seen many thin people eating a lot of food and not gaining weight or vice-versa. Now, this is because of their body type and metabolism level - it varies again for each individual. When talking about a proper

Diet Plan, not eating at all or eating a lot can never be the solution for maintaining your health. It is very important that you understand your body before you stick to a healthy diet plan - consulting a doctor and a dietician can be a good idea. Making healthy choices in life then may it be related to your meal or otherwise is very important. Here are a few things you need to look upon when it comes to diet or maintaining your health:
● It's ok to eat and not to starve - You can eat whatever you want but in a limit. Excess eating anything is always a dangerous thing. Eating every two hours can be great - you can munch on some nuts, fruits, or high fiber biscuits when that small hunger kicks in.

● Reduce sugar - Yes! It is hard, the sugar craving is tough to avoid. But you need to reduce the sugar intake in your diet to be healthy and fit, especially if you are looking to reduce that 2 inches on your waistline.

● Move your body! - The gadgets have spoiled us, we have become lazy as everything today is on our fingertips. Walking, running, or doing any fun activities like dancing every day can really help your body. Start with something small as buying your groceries every day or taking stairs instead of the escalator.

● Say no to processed food - These days everything around us is so processed and that can really be harmful to our health - with all chemicals and preservatives in it. Try getting vegetables, meat, milk, etc. straight from the local vendors and avoid everything that's packaged.

● Be happy! - Being happy, having an positive attitude, and not stressing over things is what's going to keep you healthy.

Being healthy is not difficult, it's just about some smart choices that you have to make. You can still eat what you like and be fit, you don't have to switch to eating salads and missout on your favorite food.
